The attitude of gratitude

I have read in many books and heard many life coaches say that we need to be grateful for things we have in our lives on a daily basis. They often suggest that we write a list of things we are grateful for, or to think about three things we are grateful for on that particular that day before going to bed.

There is nothing wrong with these activities, in fact I am asking you to do them as often as possible, but what I am trying to say is that quite often it happens that we rush through them – we start writing them down and want to get as many as possible thinking that the more we write, the more grateful we will feel, or we quickly enumerate them right before going to bed. What happens when we do this is we forget to stop and really feel the gratitude – to feel joy, happiness, and love when thinking about these things. This way, although we know that we are grateful for them, we don’t evoke high vibrational energy within us and around us.

So, next time you are thinking about things you are grateful for, first think of one and start feeling uplifting feelings when thinking about it.
