Week in review

Fact of the week:

  • First week of work after a long time off is hard. I really don’t like getting up so early. Zzzzzzzzzz. πŸ˜‰

Quote of the week:

  • Fix your eyes forward on what you can do, not back on what you cannot change. by Tom Clancy

Articles of the week:

  • I’m in serious need of a bigger home, and when that happens, I just might use some of these ideas to store things in my bathroom. I especially like the razor holder – those suckers keep falling on the floor and it can be quite irritating having to pick them up a few times every single time I’m taking a shower. And I LOVE the shelf dividers.
  • Wow, what amazing sculptures! They’re all great but Nr 2 and 19 are my favourites; Nr 19 perhaps also because of the beautiful sunset. πŸ™‚ Nr 12 is quite funny, isn’t it? πŸ˜€ It would make me smile every time I saw it.

Photo of the week:

  • The same goes with children’s IDs – the photo is taken when they are a few weeks old and the ID is valid for three years. Go figure! πŸ˜€

Activities of the week:

  • Summer cleaning my wardrobes (although, with the weather we are having it could also be spring cleaning)! After coming home from my holiday, I washed all the clothes I had taken with me, and I just decided to go through my wardrobes (yes, I have two πŸ˜› ) and get rid of things that either don’t fit or I haven’t worn in ages. I gave a few to my sister, then some to my friend who can recycle them (she’s good at sewing), and the rest went into the Humana container. I love cleaning my wardrobes (and sometimes even my closets) and getting rid of some things – it just makes me feel good. Plus, then you can see what you need and buy it. πŸ™‚
  • And then I did some shopping. I visited quite a few stores – I went to Zara and found a really lovely white sweater but it had some small stains so I didn’t buy it. H&M store in the centre recently underwent some refurbishing and they offered a 20% discount on one of the items you bought – well, I went in twice, so I got the discount on both items I bought. Hey, it didn’t say I wasn’t allowed to do it. πŸ˜›

  • A stray kitten that I was feeding was taken in by a couple who live in the nearby block of flats. Hurray! πŸ˜€ It really makes me happy when a story has a happy ending. πŸ™‚ Sorry for the bad photo but the kitten wouldn’t let me come any closer – it would run away.

  • This is what too many days looked like this summer. 😦 And tomorrow will be even worse – with a lot of rain. I guess it will reflect the mood of all the pupils as the school year starts tomorrow. πŸ˜›

Song of the week:

  • This week, I am giving you Taylor Swift’s Shake it off. I must admit that this girl really surprises me with her nice lyrics, and her songs are just catchy.
