As you already know, I am using Paula’s Choice products on my face. When you order from them, you also get a sample of some of their other products – you cannot choose the sample (unless you buy a sample set), but it is a nice way to try some other products without having to splash some serious money on them. This way you get to test this product and see if you like it, and then commit to the whole bottle. 🙂
So, I received a sample of their Skin Balancing Antioxidant Serum with Retinol and I liked it so I purchased the product.
This is what they write on the site:
Substantial, well-researched antioxidants, cell-communicating ingredients and potent anti-irritants are delivered in a silky base that feels weightless on skin. Once applied, this product forms a breathable barrier which not only protects the skin but works to nourish and repair it. It also significantly reduces irritation and inflammation from environmental exposure, allowing skin to repair itself naturally. Those with oily skin will love the special absorbent ingredients that leave a smooth matte finish, plus ingredients that normalize how skin behaves. No need for a separate foundation primer, as this provides all the benefits of a primer plus anti-aging and mattifying ingredients! … A few drops of this serum morning and night shrinks enlarged pores and smooths skin.
And here is my review:
Firstly, I thought that I would go through the 30 ml much faster. In fact, I still have it and I use it almost every evening.
Secondly, I love the fact that it absorbs very quickly, so it doesn’t leave you with greasy skin. As it absorbs so quickly, I put it on my face in steps – a drop on the forehead and I immediately spread it all over my forehead, then I do the same with the left side of my face, then the right one, and then the chin. The texture is really silky, and it leaves your face with a nice glow. However, I don’t think that it has made my pores smaller (I am talking about those on my nose). I might try some other antioxidants that they offer when I am through with this one.
A tip: shake well before use, or even put it in your fridge for a few minutes before use.
