Product Review: Paula’s Choice – Oil Absorbing Mask

Another product review, and again one from Paula’s Choice! 🙂 As many ladies and some gentlemen know, masks are essential when it comes to face care. I remember a mask I used many years ago – you couldn’t really talk with it on your face and if you smiled/laughed, it cracked. 😀 Because I have a mixed-combination skin (oily T zone, normal or dry patches on other areas), I tried out the Oil Absorbing Mask.

The site says:

This mask’s unique formula beautifully balances skin by absorbing excess oil without over-drying or making it feel tight. It also doesn’t include irritating, skin-damaging ingredients such as menthol, peppermint, or alcohol. The clay’s drawing action helps dislodge blackheads and cellular debris, while the soothing blend of anti-inflammatory agents reduce redness and irritation. The product rinses away completely leaving skin remarkably soft, matte, and beautifully smooth.

The mask does what the description says. I leave it on for about 10 minutes. It has a nice cooling effect, but I must admit that the last few minutes are a bit uncomfortable as my skin starts itching slightly. Already during rinsing it off and also once it is completely rinsed off I have a slight burning sensation on my skin, but my skin isn’t red nor does it appear to be damaged – quite weird. 😀 I have used it quite a few times and there seems to be a lot left in the tube. I might give it to my teenage nephews to try it.
