Product review: Paula’s Choice – Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% AHA

A little while ago I decided to order a sample set from Paula’s Choice that is aimed at women who are 30+ and want to help their skin look and act younger, have fewer wrinkles, increase firmness, and improve texture and radiance of their skin. The sample set comes with a cleanser, toner, and some other products. I had previously tried the 2% BHA and I was a bit worried that the 5% AHA might be too aggressive for my skin so I was a bit hesitant to try it. Here is what the site says about the product:

Paula’s Choice Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid is a must-have exfoliant for those who want their skin to look and act younger. It features an effective concentration of glycolic acid with a boost of pore-penetrating salicylic acid. This anti-aging exfoliant reveals youthfully radiant skin and counteracts sun damage—without redness or irritation! The innovative daily-use formula continually renews your skin’s texture, evens skin tone, smooths fine lines, and stimulates healthy collagen production via exfoliation and by delivering a potent blend of antioxidants that help fight free-radical damage.

Fragrance- and colorant-free, this silky treatment doubles as a lightweight moisturizer and is recommended as an integral part of the Paula’s Choice Resist line This AHA exfoliant has a pH range of 3.5-3.8.

My opinion:

Immediately after putting it on I felt my skin was really soft, and I was particularly happy that it caused no irritation. I put it on in the evening before going to bed and I was surprised when I looked at myself in the mirror the next morning – my skin didn’t look tired at all! It was still soft, just like a baby’s behind and had a nice radiant glow. I have used it a few more times and I can honestly say that it is by far the best product that I have ever tried! It leaves the skin smooth, radiant, and glowing. It isn’t greasy or sticky, so you can put your antioxidant on top. The only thing you have to remember is to put sun screen with an SPF of at least 15.
