Get musical and be creative
Ah, remember how good it feels when you go to a concert of your favourite artists and you sing and dance the night away? Or when you are driving in your car and your favourite songs comes on the radio? Worries are the last thing on your mind then.
You see, the right music provides a nice mental distraction, helps you deal with stress as it decreases stress hormones, it reduces muscle tension, lowers your blood pressure, relaxes and calms your body, and just puts you in a good mood.
You can create different playlists for various moods – an upbeat mix when you need more energy, or slow and soothing when you want to relax and un-wind.
Perhaps music isn’t your thing, or you might want to also be a bit creative when listening to music. Then you can start doing another hobby that you enjoy, or perhaps you can listen to music while doing your hobby, such as gardening, sewing, knitting, sketching, drawing, painting, baking, solving crossword puzzles, sudoku, etc. Doing something fun, creative, and hands on will make you forget about your problems, it will make you feel relaxed, satisfied, and you will have a positive perspective for dealing with other things.
